QMDS - The CORE QUALITY Module
The Quality Module defines quality tests and specifications that are assigned to products. The test data is entered by operators and is recorded in the database for a wide variety of reports. Additionally, control charts are available for viewing as data is being entered. Data that is out-of-specification or out-of-control immediately calls a cause of failure screen. The operator then records, the corrective actions that were taken and/or may initiate a closed loop corrective action procedure. Advanced statistical analysis tools are included for comprehensive historical studies.
Test Definitions – Core Function
The QMDS accepts five test types: variable, calculated, characteristic, attribute, or defect.
Each test for a product may have specification limits, logical limits, and control limits. A list of tests and limits are organized into Product Templates. Different customers may have different specification limits for a given product. If so, the product templates can be made customer specific. Control limits for each test may be fixed or data dependent.
Data Entry – Core Function
Driven by Product templates, each test is listed with visible check marks for the operators to remind them when data is to be entered. If the data entered is out-of-specification or out-of-control, the operator is warned and can be forced to input a Cause of Failure/Corrective Action. The Comments/Cause of Failure/Corrective Action can be associated to the job or to specific test data.
Statistical Analysis and Reporting – Core Function
SPC toolsinclude both on-line and off-line SPC analysis. On-line analysis allows operators to view charts and recognize trends as new data is entered.
Off-line analysis provides for longer term historical studies including single and multivariable charts and higher-level statistical analysis tools such as key variable identification, regression, analysis of means and variances, gage R&R and time series analysis.
Certificates of Acceptance Reporting - Core Function
The COA function is designed to allow the user to generate Certificates of Acceptance (Analysis) based on the test data entered. COA data can be viewed and printed from the screen or exported to MS Excel file.
